John H. Linehan, Ph.D. is a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern University, a Consulting Professor of Bioengineering in Stanford University's Biodesign Program, and a member of the National Academy of Engineering. He is interested in education in adaptive expertise and med-tech innovation. He is a fellow and past president of the Biomedical Engineering Society, a founding fellow and past president of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, and a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Linehan serves on the FDA Science Board.

Jan B. Pietzsch, Ph.D. is a Consulting Associate Professor in Stanford University’s Department of Management Science and Engineering, and President and CEO of Wing Tech Inc., a technology consulting firm. Dr. Pietzsch’s work and research focus on early-stage technology assessment and strategic decision support for investors and manufacturers, with primary emphasis on medical devices. At Stanford, he is a Core Faculty member of the Biodesign Program, and teaches a graduate-level course on technology assessment of medical devices. He has been a research fellow with the FDA’s Office of Device Evaluation.
